A Personal Note from Dr. Loveless
I was born five miles east of nowhere and had little hope of ever seeing the vast beauty much of the world had to offer. But God in His plan for my life blessed me far beyond my expectations.
The first 16 years of my ministry was spent as a local church pastor. The last pastorate was in Joplin, Missouri where I met the National Marketing Director of a large publishing company from Wheaton Illinois that changed the direction of my life. We clicked and he spent the next 14 months urging me to join his team. He kept before me the motto of the company, “The Whole Word for the Whole World.”
My first jet flight was one stormy Monday morning as I flew from Joplin to Chicago for my first meeting with the company heads unbeknown to my church. I have never forgotten the words of the Vice-President who said, “We have been praying for the right man to represent our organization in the southern United States and are convinced you are our man. Will you pray about it?” After announcing my decision to my church, one lady said, “We knew we would not be able to have you for long.” The church graciously gave us their blessings and endorsement. To this day we still have precious friends there.
The rest is history and that move gave me the training and abilities I did not get in college. Meeting some of the greatest writers and authors and allowing the spirit of their hearts saturate me as I sat under their instruction or ministry was priceless.
That trip was the beginning of many, with the last 35 years seeing me active in Teacher Training workshops, Christian Education and Interpersonal Relationship seminars in this country and abroad presenting more than 1100. I have traveled, spoken, been used as a consultant, or conducted seminars in 69 denominations and countless independent churches in all 50 of the States with the exception of Nebraska and North Dakota. There have been various roles in all the provinces of Canada, but five, and to 38 other foreign countries. And most places were visited numerous times. One foreign country I have traveled to 19 times.
I have had a good life and thank God for the many opportunities afforded me.
My wife, Delois, and I have enjoyed each other for 52 years and have a wonderful marriage with two fine sons who have made me proud. They have wonderful wives and great children. I could not ask for more.
